WHAT TO EXPECT AND HOW TO PREPARE
Every photography session is individually tailored to meet the needs of you and your family, not only in creating the desired image but to capture a moment you will cherish forever. Aileen uses a portable studio with backdrops and professional studio lighting. An average session can last anywhere from one to two hours and this includes set-up. To ensure a wide variety of images no session is ever hurried or rushed.
Once you have booked your session, Aileen will call you prior to the date to discuss the individual requirements of you and your family working with you to determine the best time to schedule your appointment. Please feel free to have anything you want in the image ,a favourite toy or blanket or something that has special meaning.
Maternity Portraits
Eight to ten weeks prior to your due date is the recommended time to plan a pregnancy portrait. If this date has already passed, don’t worry, these are just guidelines. Pregnancy photographs can be scheduled right up to your due date!
Some helpful hints!
If possible at least two hours before the shoot it is best to replace tight clothing with a loose fitting garment to reduce the appearance of elastic marks on your skin. Aileen has a beautiful selection of fabrics that she incorporates into the images. Please feel free to have to hand any dresses, items of clothing or materials you would like to include in your images.

What to wear?
Clothing is an important factor when creating a classic image. As your clothing choice will determine the outcome of your image, solid colours with no logos or branding usually work best. If there is to be more than one person in the session it is a good idea to keep tones and styles similar to ensure that attention is not drawn to the clothing instead of the individuals.
When is the best time to take newborn photos?
During the first 8 days is the best time to take those curled up images of a newborn baby. At this early stage babies usually sleep a lot and this is a great time to capture those magical first moments.
What can I do to prepare my child for the photo shoot?
To help make your photo session more fun, it is important when scheduling for babies or toddlers that they are well rested. For this reason generally morning shoots work best. Please feel free to include your favorite toy or soundtrack at the session to help them relax.
When is payment due?
On the day of the session you will be asked to pay the remainder of the session fee. Payment must be made before the session begins. Payments for prints are due at time of your order. Gift Certificate payments are due at due at time of purchase

All images will remain the copyrighted property of Aileen Dillon and Aileen Dillon Photography. All of the images are protected by Copyright laws and may not be reproduced, re-printed, scanned or copied without our express written permission. While we will make every effort to ensure your complete happiness and satisfaction with your portraits, due to the unique nature of custom portraiture, all sales are final.
Aileen will keep the images from your session for 1 year, thereafter all images are purged.
